About Pattie Maney....
Pattie Maney was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The daughter of an AC technician, she grew up knowing and loving fabrication and hard work. Pattie spent most of her life developing her artistic skills in many different types of media including acrylic, watercolor, found object sculpture and relief and more.
She worked for 5 years as a graphic artist and designer before beginning a BFA in sculpture. Her early artwork included solitary as well as community artwork focusing on rape and sexual assault. This work was featured in galleries and on college campuses in Chicago, San Francisco and Milwaukee. After finishing her MFA in Madison, Wisconsin she began painting bright, bold, happy animals with loving affects.
This BIG subject change made her a success with art and animal lovers in Tallahassee, Florida and she still paints portraits to this day. Many of the large rooster, bluebird, blue jay and seabird paintings are more than seven feet tall and they put a smile on everyone’s face. Pattie recently started painting bright and vivid pieces that lean towards abstract but offer a colorful vision that is often open to interpretation.
